Thursday 17 January 2013, a seminar was given by Rémi Baillot in Paris, France about Georges Claude and his adventures as OTEC pioneer. The OTEC foundation attended the seminar and would like to share the unique material that was shown of Claude’s work.
Rémi Baillot reconstructed Georges Claude’s extraordinary journey filled with adventures, battles and conquests. Supported by numerous illustrations, he described the story of this fearless, brave, clever, but also imperious man in the book entitled: “Georges Claude, le génie fourvoyé”.
Georges Claude documented a lot of his extraordinary work on film that you can watch today on video. Please find below some unique video material of Georges Claude demonstrating the basic principle of OTEC and its first deployment in Cuba and Brazil, from 1926 – 1935.
Rémi Baillot, a graduate from Sciences Po Paris, worked in marketing and advertising. From 1974 to 1995, he worked for Air Liquide. This is where he became fascinated by Georges Claude. He is a distant nephew of Jean Le Rouge, the right-hand man of Georges Claude.
