The conference also meant the start of the Knowledge Center on Organic Rankine Cycle technology (http://www.kcorc.org/en/), providing a hub for information sharing, networking and education in the field of ORC. OTEC professionals are invited to become a member of the ORC Power Systems Committee by registering at the website.
At the ORC conference, new scientific and technical research work on the OTEC power block were presented by Prof. Yasu Ikegami from Saga University (Japan), Nithesh Kumble from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Berend Jan Kleute from Bluerise (Netherlands).
The ORC Power Systems Committee is a committee of ASME’s International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) that promotes the interdisciplinary knowledge exchange between dedicated international professionals from academia, industry, governmental agencies and policy makers. The aim is to advance the research, development and implementation of Organic Rankine Cycle technology by means of providing relevant technical and scientific information, organizing technical conferences and workshops, fostering engineering education, and advising on proper regulation.
