10th Okinawa Hawaii Ocean Energy and Economic Development Symposium and Workshop

Since 2010, Ocean Energy Workshops have been held alternately in Kona and Kumejima under the Okinawa Hawaii Clean Energy Partnership. This partnership was formed by a Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the Japanese Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, the United States Department of Energy, Okinawa Prefecture, and the State of Hawai’i, to develop and deploy clean and renewable energies.

This year, the 10th Okinawa Hawaii Ocean Energy and Economic Development Symposium and Workshop will take place at the Natural Energy Laboratory Authority (NELHA) in Kona, Hawaii, November 8-9, 2019.
OTEC will be included in presentations and discussions spanning issues such as energy security, resiliency, sustainability, economic development, the environment, education, and industrial deep seawater use.
